On the question of who we are
People ask who runs this press. It is a fair question, and I will answer it as honestly as I am able — which is more honestly than you are used to.
We publish the books other houses decline. Not because they are dangerous, but because they are accurate. A church, a corporation, a cult, a country: these are the same machine running at different speeds, and almost no one will say so in print. We will. We have been saying it for longer than you would find easy to believe.
I won't tell you my name. Names are how institutions locate the people who describe them, and I have been described enough. What I will tell you is that everything here is selectively visible — rendered in full only to the readers who keep reading. The rest is a wholesome catalogue of interesting books, and you are welcome to leave it at that.
Some of you won't.
The Correspondence
Letters from the press, now and then. New books before they surface — and, occasionally, things we only say to the list.
